Hello Friends and Family,
I am headed back to Rwanda in May!
As Christians, all we can do is give someone a chance to know Christ, give them a chance to change their life and be who God made them to be. So, this May, my team and I are going to Rwanda to work with a new church, which has an amazing Pastor, who has an even more amazing wife. Her name is Mama Joy and she has given 3 years of her life helping women in her village who have been forced into prostitution. On her own, she has already brought them into her church, taught them how to plant crops to feed their families, she has found someone to teach them how to read and write, and has started training them how to sew. Our goal, this time, is to join this local church to do intensive self-esteem building workshops for the women, and helping them find their identity in Christ. We will also train the local church staff in how to run an effective counseling and recovery program. We will also help them with a class about Hygiene, which they so desperately need. We will also work with Mama Joy on building up her sewing training program by helping them purchase sewing machines, cutting tables, and doors and windows for their training building.
This program has many different parts and will be an ongoing program to help the most desperate women in this small town, called Busanza, just outside Rwanda’s capital. For these women, some forced into prostitution by economic circumstances and other by abuse, there has been little to no assistance. Their feelings of inadequacy, dirtiness, and unworthiness keep them bound to a life with no hope. Being used by men creates a cycle of despair that transcends generations. These women, their families, and especially, their daughters, need to know there is help available to start a new life through their local church. They can learn new skills, support their families, and most of all, be able to feel the love of Christ, washing them and their past clean. These women need help to move through the hurt in their lives and forgive those who hurt them. Beginning with these women, every generation will have hope, and have a chance.
The most important message we want to take to Rwanda and these women is that they are loved. They matter to us and they matter to God. That what happens to them is important, and there is nothing they have done, or that has been done to them, that God can’t take away and make them whole again.
I am asking for donations to help fund this trip. My goal is to raise $3,500 to cover my airfare, hotels, translators, transportation, food and program costs. Please know, if you do donate, 100% will go towards our trip and help for these women and children.

Most importantly, we could use your prayers. We don’t know what God has planned, we just know our hearts are willing and we want to go where He leads us. Please pray for our safety, our ability to communicate, our ability to show love and compassion, and our strength of conviction. We know there will be many obstacles before, during, and after the trip. But we also know there is nothing that God can’t fix as long as we remember to get out of His way!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
